Waste Identification & Classification

Identify, classify and characterize wastes generated during drilling operations, including drill cuttings, spent drilling fluids, oily water, sludge, contaminated soil, used chemicals, chemical containers and general solid waste.

Waste Segregation at Source

Segregate waste at the point of generation using clearly labelled, compatible and designated bins, skips, tanks, IBCs and other approved waste containers to prevent cross-contamination and facilitate proper treatment and disposal.

Liquid Waste Collection & Transfer

Collect liquid wastes from rig drains, sumps, containment areas and designated collection points using AODD (Air-Operated Double Diaphragm) pumps, suitable transfer hoses and approved pumping systems.

Waste Containment & Storage

Transfer oily water, sludge, contaminated fluids and other liquid wastes into designated waste tanks while maintaining secondary containment and implementing controls to prevent leaks, spills, overfilling and environmental contamination.

Waste Storage Management

Inspect and monitor waste tanks, skips, IBCs, containment systems, valves and transfer points to ensure structural integrity, proper identification, adequate capacity and prevention of leakage or cross-contamination.

Drill Cuttings Management

Receive, contain and manage drill cuttings discharged from shale shakers and other solids-control equipment, utilizing appropriate cuttings-handling and processing systems.

Cuttings Treatment & Fluid Recovery

Process drill cuttings through equipment such as cuttings dryers, centrifuges and other solids-control systems to recover reusable drilling fluids and reduce the volume and environmental impact of waste requiring disposal.

Recover suitable drilling fluids from processed cuttings and, where technically and operationally appropriate, return recovered fluids to the active mud system for reuse.

Oily Water & Sludge Treatment Treat contaminated water, oily water and sludge using appropriate technologies, including oil-water separation, centrifugation, dewatering and other approved treatment processes.

Waste Equipment Inspection & Maintenance Conduct routine inspection and operational checks on waste-management equipment, including pumps, hoses, tanks, skips, valves, pipelines, transfer connections, containment systems and treatment equipment.

Housekeeping & Environmental Control Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the rig floor, mud systems, waste-handling areas and treatment facilities to minimize operational, environmental and HSE risks.

Spill Prevention & Emergency Response Respond promptly to waste-related spills and releases using spill kits, absorbent materials, drip trays, bunds and appropriate containment and recovery procedures in accordance with site emergency-response requirements.

Waste Tracking & Documentation

Quantify, record and monitor waste streams by type, source, volume/weight, treatment method, recovery route and final destination, maintaining accurate waste inventories, manifests and operational records.

Waste Transportation & Off-Site Management

Prepare waste for transportation by ensuring that containers are correctly labelled, sealed, secured and compatible with their contents, and coordinate safe transfer to approved and appropriately licensed waste-management contractors and facilities.

Final Treatment, Recovery & Disposal Verification

Track waste through its complete management lifecycle and verify that waste is appropriately treated, recycled, recovered or disposed of at approved facilities in accordance with client requirements, company procedures, environmental standards and applicable Nigerian regulatory requirements.
